    Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

    Job Description

    Comply with all safety requirements and actively promote a positive safety culture. Perform journeyman level electrician duties to install, maintain, and repair production equipment and machines. Plan, layout, install, and repair a wide variety of complex electrical equipment, including automatic machine and process controls, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, electronic controls, tape actuated controls, and other equipment involving tube or transistor circuits. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, test, and make adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on production equipment, including air compressors, nitrogen lines, and lighting systems. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, forklifts, man lifts, and bucket trucks in performing duties. Comply with all safety-related procedures and processes related to exposure to electrical hazards, such as lock out/Tag Out, Arc Flash Hazard, and Electrostatic discharge.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, maintain, and repair production equipment and machines.

    + Plan, layout, install, and repair complex electrical equipment.

    + Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, replace or repair parts, and make necessary adjustments.

    + Perform preventive maintenance on equipment like air compressors and lighting systems.

    + Utilize various hand and power tools and equipment like forklifts and bucket trucks.

    + Adhere to safety procedures related to electrical hazards.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Electrical and electronic theory

    + National Electrical Code Standards

    + Troubleshooting logic and practice on AC and DC equipment

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC programs

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with 3 years' experience as an Electrician in a high-speed manufacturing environment, or High School diploma/GED with formal electrical apprenticeship and experience.

    + Possession and maintenance of Electrician license issued by the state of Kentucky.

    + Proficiency in using instruments, meters, gauges, and dials.

    Work Environment

     

    This position requires working in a manufacturing environment with the ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift). Regular lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.; pushing/pulling up to 40 lbs. Reaching, repetitive motion, and frequent use of hands/feet for coordination. Visual acuity for reading gauges and documents. Tolerance for high-heat environments (90–110°F) with required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Louisville, KY.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $79040.00 - $79040.00/yr.
