    Job Title: Dispatcher

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to efficiently manage and schedule routes for our drivers, ensuring smooth operations in our transportation network.

    Responsibilities

    + Schedule routes based on driver availability and update driver dispatch schedules daily.

    + Set up daily tractor/trailer assignments for drivers.

    + Communicate with customers to record shipment details, pick-up times, and any additional required information.

    + Provide work direction for a large group of drivers daily and be the sole point of contact during certain times.

    + Resolve driver and store conflicts and maintain daily contact with customers, especially in the evening.

    + Complete transportation paperwork, including route manifests, invoices, special customer notifications, and maps.

    + Ensure driver compliance with DOT hours of service.

    + Discuss dispatch issues with drivers, customers, and managers using strong interpersonal skills.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a similar industry.

    + Understanding of DOT rules and regulations.

    + Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

    + Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

    + Knowledge of safety and legal procedures for handling goods.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Working knowledge of AS400 systems is preferred.

    + Experience in an operational transportation or similar industry role is desired.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a cold storage distribution setting, combining office work with warehouse duties in a cold environment.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
