    Job Title: Electrical Apprentice

    *Job Description: We are seeking motivated Electrical Apprentices to join our growing electrical division. This role is ideal for individuals with electrical aptitude or construction industry experience who are eager to build a career in the trades. You will work alongside licensed journeyman technicians on new installations of electrical systems/units across residential, multi-family, and light industrial projects.

    *Responsibilities

    + Assist journeyman electricians with the installation of electrical wiring, conduit, and low-voltage systems

    + Support electrical layout and connections for HVAC units, panels, and related equipment

    + Run and terminate wires, install outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures under supervision

    + Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to assist with installations

    + Perform general tasks including power vacuuming of pipes, cleaning job sites, and moving units

    + Troubleshoot basic electrical issues and support journeyman in diagnosing problems

    + Perform demanding tasks including bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting over 100 lbs with a team member

    *Essential Skills

    + 1+ year of experience as an electrical helper or mechanical/construction aptitude

    + Ability to use impact drivers, wire strippers, and basic hand tools

    + Valid driver’s license

    + Mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical wiring and low-voltage systems

    *Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with reading electrical blueprints and schematics

    + Experience in skilled trades or construction installations

    + Willingness to purchase and maintain personal power tools as the role progresses

    + Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

    + Team-oriented and dynamic construction environment

    + Busy schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 60+ hours per week, starting at 7AM each morning

    + Collaborate with journeyman electricians, meeting either at the shop or directly on job sites

    + Dress code: jeans, work boots, and work-appropriate t-shirt (company-provided shirts available)

    This is a Permanent position based out of Des Moines, IA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
