    TYPE OF RECRUITMENT: OPEN COMPETITIVE - EMERGENCY

    LA County is under a Department of Justice Consent Decree to improve conditions and mental health care in County jails, as well as supporting justice-involved populations post-release. We are looking for qualified and passionate individuals to help us in the mission of providing a range of services both in the jail and community.     TheChief Executive Office is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Analyst, CEO - Community Safety Implementation Team (CSIT)vacancies related to the DOJ Consent Decree.

     

    Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment.

     

    During your initial work period, you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100%.

     

    Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Analyst, CEO - CSIT.

     

    Essential Job Functions

     

    + Works with CSIT subject matter experts to gather and understand operational and program data, identifying available data sources and determining their relevance for assigned analytical tasks.

    + Performs basic analytical reviews of data, including simple trend analysis, summarizing information, identifying notable patterns, and preparing preliminary findings to support program or operational assessments.

    + Conducts routine data management tasks, such as running predefined queries, cleaning and organizing datasets, and combining information from multiple departmental systems to support reporting needs.

    + Prepares and presents charts, tables, dashboards, and written summaries that communicate key findings, support business decisions, and assist with resource allocation discussions.

    + Assists in developing and maintaining business metrics and performance indicators for CSIT, including collecting data, updating tracking tools, and reporting on progress toward established goals and KPIs

    SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    Two years of professional staff experience in analyzing and recommending solutions to problems in government programs or areas such as budget, finance, operations, legislative policy, organization and management, intergovernmental relations or communications at the level of Administrative Assistant II* or higher.

    Special Requirement Information

    *Experience at the level of Administrative Assistant IIin the County of Los Angeles is defined as work in a central administrative office analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of a variety of problems of organization, budget, systems and procedures, program, facilities planning, general management, or personnel.

    LICENSE:

    A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

    PHYSICAL CLASS:

    2 - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
