Deductions Specialist

Job Description

As a Deductions Specialist, you will oversee and reconcile customer deductions, including addressing pricing issues, off-invoice allowances, returns, freight, and rebates. Your role will involve identifying invalid deductions, gathering necessary documentation, and clearing valid deductions to appropriate codes. You will verify discrepancies between billed and received amounts, allocate over/shorts, and apply payments accurately through checks, ACH, and lockbox to reconcile accounts receivable balances. You will engage with customers and brokers, utilize external systems like Exedra to process exceptions, and collaborate with Sales, Order Entry, Warehouse, and Treasury teams to research issues and prevent future deductions. You will also maintain deduction files, monitor trends, and present analyses to management.

Responsibilities

+ Oversee and reconcile customer deductions related to pricing issues, off-invoice allowances, returns, freight, and rebates.

+ Identify invalid deductions, gather necessary documentation, and clear valid deductions to appropriate codes.

+ Verify discrepancies between billed and received amounts and allocate over/shorts.

+ Accurately apply payments through checks, ACH, and lockbox, and reconcile accounts receivable balances.

+ Engage with customers and brokers to address deductions.

+ Utilize external systems such as Exedra to process exceptions.

+ Collaborate with Sales, Order Entry, Warehouse, and Treasury teams to research issues and prevent future deductions.

+ Maintain deduction files, monitor trends, and present analyses to management.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable and deductions.

+ Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with SAP is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
