The Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors (MLSS) Division has an immediate need for a Staff Systems Engineer to serve as the RF Performance Team Product Owner to guide the development of a next generation maritime RF sensor system and mission solution. The Product Owner (PO) role offers a strategic leadership opportunity, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product's vision and strategy to align with the customer needs and threat landscape. You will lead and inspire your team of highly motivated and technically skilled systems, software, and digital engineers dedicated to innovative product development. As the PO, you will be responsible for working with program leadership in defining the overall product vision, crafting a minimum viable product, and managing cross-team dependencies to drive success. Engaging with key stakeholders, you will ensure clear communication and alignment on product goals and strategies. Your attention to detail will guide the team in achieving its objectives, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Northrop Grumman Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors Division is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer to function as a team Product Owner for the SEWIP Block 3 Electronic Warfare program. Team Product Owners are expected to:
Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Decompose system capabilities into accomplishable tasks to meet program milestones.
+ Develop a capability phasing plan satisfying program budget and schedule constraints.
+ Provide clear direction for technical development and incremental phasing of capabilities into a deliverable software product.
+ Define technical priorities aligned with program objectives.
+ Define system capability aligned with system requirements and customer feedback.
+ Ensure Product Team alignment with program priorities and capability phasing plan.
+ Track and report status for the high priority bug tickets.
+ Identify and document capabilities and limitations of software releases.
+ Identify, assess, manage and report technical risks.
+ Provide clear communications and support to the Product Team.
+ Present to customers and senior management, with tailored material based on the audience.
+ Maintain a backlog of tasks in Jira and set team priorities in a manner consistent with the program Tier 1 development schedule.
+ Define clear Acceptance Criteria for tasks and articulate clear expectations to the team. Provide technical guidance to the team including technical mentorship.
+ Effectively communicate status, risks and blockers to program management and the customer.
+ Coordinate with other teams to resolve interdependencies.
This position is contingent upon an active DoD secret clearance prior to start.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
+ U.S Citizenship is required.
+ An active DoD Secret Clearance is required .
+ 4 years of experience with either Radar or Electronic Warfare systems
+ 2 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams (Systems, Software, Digital)
+ Experience with capability to decompose system-level capabilities into functional components and guide architectural decisions
+ Experience with capability to create capability development plans and advocate for them internally and with the customer
+ Experience with capability to define acceptance criteria including capability selloff test plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Domain experience in Electronic Attack.
+ Prior professional Integration and Test experience. Proficient with basic RF test equipment such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
+ Prior experience and proficiency in troubleshooting system defects. Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
+ Familiar with Agile development principles.
+ Experienced with embedded software systems.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
