    Job Summary

    We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Director of Hospital Medicine to lead our hospital medicine team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. The individual in this role will be responsible for setting and executing a strategic vision that enhances patient care, fosters innovation, and supports academic and research excellence. The Director will have oversight of clinical operations, provider performance, and educational programs, while promoting a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.

    Job Duties

    + Leadership and Planning

     

    The Director leads and organizes the hospital medicine department, handling staffing, coordination, and activity evaluation to meet departmental goals.

     

    + Financial Oversight

     

    This position manages capital and operating budgets, allocating resources and meeting financial objectives.

     

    + Staffing and Recruitment

     

    The Director oversees recruitment and staffing to maintain high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

     

    + Liaison and Collaboration

     

    Acts as a liaison with administration and clinical departments, supporting innovative care, teaching, research, and strong interdisciplinary ties.

     

    + Supervision and Evaluation

     

    Supervises and evaluates physicians, ensuring clinical and administrative duties meet departmental standards.

     

    + Quality Improvement

     

    Leads departmental quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.

     

    + Department Management

     

    Directs clinical, operational, and financial management to support the organization's mission.

     

    + Regulatory Compliance

     

    Ensures compliance with organizational policies and standards set by regulatory agencies.

     

    + Work Environment and Expectations

     

    Works in both clinical and office settings, fulfilling job obligations and adhering to policies. Additional required competencies may apply; this profile outlines key duties for success in the role.

    Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required)

    Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
