    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Demonstrate the mental, emotional, and physical ability to work with pregnant mothers and children birth to 3 years and families from various socio-economic groups. Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with children with disabilities.

    + Provide for safety and supervision of children according to Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). Familiarity with and willingness to abide by the Texas Family Code §261.101 as it pertains to the abuse and neglect of young children

    + Maintain professional ethics and positive working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, students, and families. Participate in professional development by attending conferences, meetings, and by reading relevant research and literature.

    + Collaborate as part of the center Leadership team in developing and editing the policies and procedures, written plans, handbooks, training plan, and other relevant documents regarding day-to-day operations of the center. Help plan, attend, and participate in regular leadership meetings, center staff meetings, staff training, and all family engagement events; contribute to the monthly newsletter.

    + Help plan, attend, and participate in regular leadership meetings, center staff meetings, staff training, and all family engagement events.

    + Prepare data and reports for meetings of leadership, staff, Governing Board and Policy Council; report data to all stakeholders.

    + Responsible for the oversight of nutrition services at the center to ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS)are met and to carry out the initiatives of the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including monitoring food service and facilitating nutrition education to families and staff.

    + Administer all components of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) including oversight of kitchen staff and ensuring successful audits of the program by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).

    + Work with Program Director throughout the hiring process for new staff, including screening applicants, facilitating interviews, and following up in Kenexa/Brassring system; ensuring compliance with all regulations from agencies such as Texas Child Care Regulations, the Office of Head Start, NAEYC, and TTU.

    + Conduct the new hire process for all staff to include orientation, training, and ensuring completion of the TTU CEHS Hiring Matrix.

    + Create and maintain the electronic profile and personnel file in the data management system, ChildPlus, to ensure compliance with all requirements for Texas Child Care Regulations (CCR), the Office of Head Start, and NAEYC.

    + Administer the training and technical assistance plan for the program pursuant to the Head Start Act 648 (d)(1)(A,G,I), including monitoring and scheduling of all trainings and communicating with external trainers.

    + Manage employee termination process, including termination with HHS, updating data in ChildPlus, and ensuring completion of the TTU Employee Exit Checklist.

    + Facilitate the volunteer program including adherence to all TTU, CCR , and HSPPS volunteer requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in human services or nutrition services.

    + Experience working with infants and toddlers in group settings.

    + Experience working with low-income populations.

    + Experience with the Child and Adult Care Food Program or nutrition services for early childhood.

    + Professional experience with hiring and training staff.

    + Experience working in an Early Head Start

    + Experience following NAEYC standards.

    + Experience with supervisory management.

    + Experience using TTU hiring systems (Kenexa/Brassring) and submitting ePAFs.
