    Job Overview

     

    Fairview Health Services is hiring** **a Registered Nurse (RN)** **for our ICU** **at our M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital** **location in Woodbury, MN** **.

     

    Within our ICU, our Registered Nurses are responsible for caring for patients who have many different diagnoses including, but not limited to, sepsis, overdoses, withdrawals, and surgical patients who need a higher level of care. Our complex patients require continuous hemodynamic monitoring, intense medication management, ongoing critical thinking, and excellent communication with team members and families. This is a fast-paced and highly technical medical environment.

     

    **Schedule:** This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the **Evening** shift, working every other weekend.

    About this position – ICU 3 North

    + 18 beds mixed acuity

    + Ages 18+ Patient average length of stay: 3-4 days

    + Patient Population: Vents, codes, respiratory failures, septic patients, shock, unstable post surgicals, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,diabetics

    + Usually 7-14 patients a day, however we are going to be increasing these numbers

    + Free parking!

    + Will consider experienced ICU or someone looking to push themselves to the next level

    As an ICU RN, you will be responsible for:

    + Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes;

    + Developing an individualized nursing plan of care;

    + Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care;

    + Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;

    + Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;

    + Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate;

    + Demonstrating the ability to advance care by applying standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;

    + Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and

    + Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Associate degree in Nursing

    + Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association

    + Valid RN Licensure from MN Board of Nursing

    + At least 1 year of RN experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

    + Preceptor experience
