    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    The Research Analyst is responsible for monitoring and tracking the consumption of Telemundo content across platforms and will support building insights about the audience using a wide variety of data sources.  The ideal person for this role is passionate about understanding the media industry, familiar with Spanish-language media, highly analytical, and excellent at delivering data-focused reporting and analyses.

    Responsibilities:

    + Conduct in-depth analysis of audience data to uncover market trends, viewer preferences, audience flow patterns, and identify growth opportunities.

    + Utilize tools to access linear TV ratings, as well as digital and social media metrics, demonstrating a strong understanding of how to apply these data sources to support assigned research tasks and strategic initiatives.

    + Manage multiple research projects concurrently, effectively prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines.

    + Track and report on cross-platform consumption behavior across linear, digital, and social media platforms for Spanish-language content, particularly Telemundo properties.

    + Create compelling data visualizations and presentations using PowerPoint and Tableau, transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for internal stakeholders.

    + Support sports content tracking and reporting, including analyzing performance of live events, creating executive summaries, benchmarking against competitors, and identifying key trends in Spanish-language sports viewership.

    + Collaborate with and report directly to the Research Manager, supporting additional assignments and ad hoc requests as needed.

    Basic Requirements:

    + Four-year degree (B.A., B.S.) from an accredited college or university

    + Minimum 1 year experience desired at a broadcast/cable network, agency, media research supplier or digital media company; or other corporate experience grounded in strategic thinking and analysis

    + Proficient written and verbal communication in English

    + Demonstrated expertise using Microsoft Office applications including Excel (pivot tables and macros a plus) and PowerPoint, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Domo

    Desired Characteristics:

    + Experience with Nielsen ratings software

    + Bilingual: English/Spanish, both oral and written

    + Experience querying large datasets with SQL or other similar data analysis tool

    + Knowledge of Adobe Reports & Analytics, Analysis Workspace, and Report Builder a plus

    + General knowledge or interest in sports, particularly soccer and major televised events, as this role supports high-visibility sports programming across Telemundo platforms

    + Proven experience in strategic thinking and analysis

    + Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment

    + Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within an organization

    + Exhibits attention to detail and has effective time management skills

    + Demonstrated fast learner and proactive problem solver

    Additional Requirements:

    + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
