Job Description- Marketplace Sales Associate

The primary function of this position includes but is not limited to provide customer service, answer phones, and take orders, create customer solutions, and build relationships. They should learn about each product and how to sell them. Ensure orders are correct and always look for new customers. While performing the duties of this job, a Marketplace Sales Associate will provide customer service, answer phones, and take orders, create customer solutions, and build relationships in cold and warm indoor settings.

Essential Duties Include

+ Directly assist customers with orders inside the store and via telephone

+ Welcomes customers, answers their questions, and helps them locate items

+ Operates scanners, scales, cash registers, etc.,

+ Accepts and processes payments

+ Balances the cash register and generates reports for credit and debit sales

+ Ensures the upkeep of a clean and safe marketplace (i.e., workspaces, product shelving, displays, etc.)

+ Completes custodial duties and notifies management of any issues

+ Works in different areas of the store to help as needed

+ Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements

Education/Training

+ Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements

+ Must be detail-oriented and organized

+ Must have strong customer service skills

+ Should have familiarity with working at a register (i.e., money handling)

Physical Requirements

+ Periodically will lift, push, or move products that weigh up to 55 pounds unassisted

+ Frequently reaches up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets

+ Constantly stands, walks, and moves products quickly during the shift

Job Knowledge and Skills:

+ Must be able to work the assigned schedule

+ Must be able to use, learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job

+ Must be at least 18 years of age

+ Must be able to deliver genuine, quality customer service

+ Must be able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment

+ Must be detail-orientated and organized

+ Must be able to work under pressure and think quickly

+ Must have strong computer skills

+ Should have familiarity with working at a register and cash handling
