Network Support Lead (L3)
We are seeking an experienced Network Support Lead (L3) to provide advanced technical leadership and serve as the final escalation point for complex network issues. This role involves troubleshooting, architecture support, firewall management, performance optimization, and mentoring junior engineers. Key Responsibilities Advanced Troubleshooting & Escalation
+ Act as the final L3 escalation for complex issues involving OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP, port channels, NAT, ACLs, and VPNs.
+ Perform deep packet analysis using Wireshark, FortiAnalyzer, Syslog to resolve persistent or high-severity issues.
+ Lead and manage bridge calls during P1/P2 network incidents.
Network Design & Architecture Support
+ Contribute to HLD/LLD for new sites, migrations, segmentation, and firewall architecture.
+ Review and validate network designs for scalability, security, and standards compliance.
+ Recommend improvements to routing, switching, and security architectures.
Firewall & Security Operations
+ Manage and optimize Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, including policies, NAT, UTM profiles, SSL/IPSec VPNs, routing, and HA clusters.
+ Audit Firewall Access Control Policies for compliance and least-privilege access.
+ Participate in security hardening and segmentation strategies.
Network Optimization & Performance Engineering
+ Conduct capacity planning, traffic analysis, and performance tuning.
+ Monitor device health, routing tables, CPU/memory usage, and optimize configurations.
+ Identify chronic issues and implement preventive measures.
Network Automation & Scripting
+ Develop automation for routine tasks using Python, Bash, or EEM scripting (preferred).
+ Automate configuration backups, compliance checks, and monitoring integrations.
Change Management & Migrations
+ Lead complex network changes, major upgrades, firewall migrations, and routing redesigns.
+ Prepare RFCs, rollback plans, impact assessments, and post-implementation reports.
+ Coordinate network cutovers with application, infrastructure, and ISP teams.
Vendor & ISP Coordination
+ Collaborate with ISPs and OEMs (Cisco, Fortinet) for link issues, hardware faults, and TAC cases.
+ Validate circuit performance and troubleshoot last-mile connectivity.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
+ Maintain network topology diagrams, design documents, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
+ Enhance L1/L2 documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
Mentorship & Technical Leadership
+ Mentor L1/L2 engineers in routing/switching, firewall operations, and troubleshooting.
+ Recommend technical training and assist in defining operational standards.
Required Technical Skills
+ Deep hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/XE, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel).
+ Strong expertise with Fortinet FortiGate (FortiOS): policies, NAT, HA, UTM, VPN, routing, diagnostics.
+ Proficiency in NAT, ACLs, IPSec/SSL VPN, segmentation strategies.
+ Experience with NMS/SNMP monitoring, Syslog analytics, and packet capture tools.
+ Working knowledge of automation/scripting (Python, EEM, Bash).
+ Knowledge of network security best practices and compliance requirements.
Experience & Certifications
+ Experience: 10–12 years in networking, with 3–4 years in L3-level support or senior escalation roles.
+ Certifications:
+ Cisco CCNP Enterprise (strongly preferred; CCNA mandatory)
+ Fortinet NSE 4 (higher NSE levels preferred)
+ ITIL v4 Foundation (optional but beneficial)
+ Additional routing/firewall/security certifications are a plus.
