Position Summary: The housekeeping supervisor oversees staff and operations to maintain cleanliness and order, manages inventory, assigns tasks, conducts quality inspections, handles guest requests and complaints, and ensures adherence to safety and hygiene standards. The housekeeping supervisor trains and motivates staff, monitors performance, and maintains necessary supplies and equipment for effective daily operations and a positive guest experience. This is a working supervisor who fills in for areas when needed.
The housekeeping supervisor will be for the campuses in Albany. It will be 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
+ Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure efficiency.
+ Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and common areas to ensure they meet established standards of cleanliness and order.
+ Inventory & Supplies: Monitor and manage the stock of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment, placing orders for replacements as needed.
+ Safety & Sanitation: Ensure all housekeeping activities and staff adhere to safety guidelines and sanitary regulations.
+ Guest Relations: Address and resolve guest requests and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
+ Operations & Reporting: Oversee daily cleaning operations, report on department performance, and coordinate with other departments as necessary.
The estimated wage range is $22 to $24 per hour for 40 hours per week for 52 weeks, depending on experience.
Job Requirements:
+ At least five (5) years of experience in housekeeping/janitorial supervision services, preferably in a commercial or institutional environment
+ Proven leadership and organizational abilities
+ Efficient communication and interpersonal skills
+ Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment
+ Ability to train and motivate a diverse team
+ Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest issues professionally
+ Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
+ Integrity and a customer-focused mindset
+ High school diploma or equivalent
