POSITION SUMMARY
Set up, adjust and operate metal fabrication machinery and equipment to shape structural metal pipe, tube, etc. to specifications. Fabricate directly from drawings and work instructions without supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tooling Technician will support all areas of LSI to improve and maintain Lean Manufacturing practices. This role is hands-on, requiring strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain tooling solutions that enhance production flow and efficiency.

Qualifications
+ Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook.
+ Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
+ Knowledge of welding symbols and applicable safety standards.
+ Proficient in TIG and MIG welding.
+ Skilled in metal fabrication, including cutting, forming, and machining.
+ Capable of independently interpreting and creating mechanical components and jigs.
+ Able to understand and follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
+ Experienced in using shop equipment such as welders, saws, and plasma cutters.
+ Motivated to learn mills, lathes, and various hand and inspection tools.
+ Preferred Qualifications:
+ Strong understanding of metals, plastics, and composites.
+ Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
+ Familiarity with deburring, painting, coating, and prep work.
+ Lotus notes
The target hourly range is $28.00-34.00/hr, depending upon qualifications and experience. Expanded pay ranges may be available for growth and advancement opportunities. In addition to hourly pay, the compensation package also includes eligibility for profit-sharing and monthly bonus opportunity.
