    Overview

     

    BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Back End Developer to lead backend development efforts, drive technical decision-making, and build high-quality, scalable backend systems. This role requires deep hands-on expertise and the ability to guide and mentor others.

     

    What you will do

     

    + Architect, design, and lead development of backend systems using Python and Flask

    + Own the creation and lifecycle of robust RESTful APIs and services

    + Utilize AWS to build scalable, secure, and production-ready cloud solutions

    + Provide technical leadership and mentor junior/mid-level developers

    + Drive best practices for coding, testing, CI/CD, and operational excellence

    + Troubleshoot complex issues, optimize performance, and ensure system reliability

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals

     

    What you need to have

     

    + Bachelor's Degree and 10 to 12 years of experience

    + Advanced experience with Python and Flask, including building complex backend systems

    + Strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture and services

    + Experience designing scalable backend architectures and APIs

    + Ability to lead, mentor, and make strategic technical decisions

    + Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

    What we'd like you to have

    + Experience with distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architectures

    + Strong database design experience across SQL and NoSQL technologies

    + Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)

    + Experience with performance tuning, logging, and monitoring tools

    + Background in security best practices or compliance frameworks

    + Prior experience influencing product direction or technical strategy
