The medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, handling both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
Responsibilities
+ Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.
+ Support chronic disease management and patient examinations.
+ Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
+ Assist in maintaining health and wellness of patients.
+ Communicate effectively with patients, employees, and the public.
+ Assess emergencies and act accordingly.
+ Float between clinic locations as required by patient demand.
Essential Skills
+ High School diploma required.
+ 2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting.
+ MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience.
+ Phlebotomy experience required.
+ Ability to take vitals, manual vitals preferred.
+ Active BLS certification.
+ Active driver's license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
+ Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.
+ Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.
+ Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
+ Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.
+ Ability to float between locations as patient queue demands.
+ Responsible, organized, and independent.
Work Environment
The position is 100% onsite at a pediatric primary care clinic. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, with rotating Saturdays from 7:45am to 12pm. If asked to float outside of core locations, a $20 gas card is provided, along with $0.67 per mile when traveling between non-listed clinics.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37035.18 - $52304.07/yr.
