    Start Your Career in R&D as a Technician I (Manufacturability & Facilities)!

     

    Are you looking to begin a career in science, research, or food production? Join our R&D team as a Technician I, where you’ll get hands-on experience working with real products, real equipment, and a team that’s excited to help you grow.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    As an R&D Technician, you’ll support our scientists and researchers as we develop new pet food and flavor products. You don’t need years of experience—just a willingness to learn, work hard, and be part of a collaborative team.

    Your day-to-day work may include:

    + Setting up and operating basic food processing equipment (we’ll train you!)

    + Preparing pet food samples for testing

    + Weighing and measuring ingredients

    + Assisting with simple flavor or product prep

    + Keeping equipment and workspace clean, safe, and organized

    + Recording data and monitoring equipment using electronic logs

    + Rotating through different tasks and learning new skills across the lab

     

    What We’re Looking For

     

    This is a great role for someone starting out, switching careers, or looking to build hands-on technical experience.

    You may be a great fit if you:

    + Are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable following step-by-step instructions

    + Can do basic math (ratios, percentages) and simple data entry

    + Are familiar with MS Word and Excel

    + Are willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for periods of time

    + Enjoy working in a team environment and communicating with coworkers

    + Want to learn new equipment, safety practices, and lab procedure

    + A background in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, or 2+ years of hands-on lab/production experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

     

    No specialized lab experience? No problem. We provide on-the-job training and support to help you feel confident in the role.

     

    Work Environment

     

    + Standing, walking, and working with equipment

    + Lifting up to 50 pounds

    + Use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, etc.)

    + Working around food-processing machinery
