Construction Accountant Opportunity – Work with a Top Construction Firm in Hauppauge, Long Island, NY

Anna Parson at Robert Half is partnering with a respected construction client in search of a skilled corporate Construction Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your industry experience and play a vital role in driving projects to successful completion.

As the Construction Accountant, you will:

+ Track, monitor and analyze construction project budgeting and accounting

+ Participate in the month/quarter/year end close and assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements, management reports, and forecasts

+ Handle certified payroll and union benefit reporting/compliance

+ Review and optimize the accounts payable/receivable, AIA billing, and change orders processes

+ Prepare for external and internal audits including union, worker's comp and financial or insurance audits

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.

• Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

• Skilled in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.

• Experience with bank reconciliations and construction-specific accounting tasks.

• Knowledge of Work In Progress (WIP) accounting and financial statement preparation.

• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.

• Familiarity with certified payroll procedures and lien management.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
