Cash Application Coordinator

The Opportunity:

The overarching goal of the Accounts Receivable department is to support the sales growth of Smurfit Westrock while ensuring that the company\u2019s cash flow and credit risk are maintained at acceptable levels. We are seeking a Cash Application Coordinator to join the team. The person in this role will report to the Cash Application Supervisor and assist to ensure that all customer payments are applied promptly and accurately, supporting an efficient collections process. This is a hybrid position and will sit onsite 3 days a week at our Duluth office

Responsibilities:

* Sort physical mail, including checks and correspondence, and communication with stakeholders via email.

* Remotely deposit GL checks, Canadian checks, and customer checks.

* Answer customer calls and handle MPS and SWK credit card payments.

* Process CHAX checks through remote deposits.

* Handle multiple EFT transactions throughout the week.

* Pursues continuous improvement and personal growth through training, coaching, manager interactions, and active participation in Smurfit Westrock's performance management process.

* Take part in projects and initiatives within the Cash Application Department.

* Complete other miscellaneous duties assigned by management.

* Assist with meeting departmental KPIs and key performance metrics.

* Perform ad hoc tasks as needed.

What you need to succeed:

* 2+ years\u2019 experience in high-volume Cash Applications or Accounts Receivable

* Strong prioritization, planning, and communication abilities

* Technical proficiency required

* ERP experience preferred

* Bachelor\u2019s degree preferred but not required
