Job Title: Press Operator

Job Description

As a Press Operator, you will operate a metal stamping press ranging from 800 tons to 1600 tons. You will manage the loading of steel coils using an overhead crane, set dies, change out tooling, and interface with the HMI to operate the press. Additionally, you will ensure the quality of parts using various measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.

Responsibilities

+ Operate metal stamping presses from 800 to 1600 tons.

+ Load steel coil onto the press using an overhead crane.

+ Set dies and change out tooling.

+ Interface with Human Machine Interface (HMI) to run the press.

+ Conduct quality checks using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other measuring tools.

+ Run equipment including coil handling and loading.

+ Perform first piece runs and production of parts.

+ Conduct quality checks and document results.

Essential Skills

+ Experience as a machine operator.

+ Ability to perform setup and change over.

+ Experience with tooling, CNC, press, and hydraulics.

+ Mechanical aptitude.

+ Proficiency in using measuring tools like calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Mechanical aptitude.

+ Experience with coil handling and loading.

+ Knowledge of assembly and production processes.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean manufacturing facility with newer equipment. It is a non-temperature controlled, semi-noisy environment due to the 24/7 operation of stamping presses, with ear protection and safety glasses provided. The company is currently expanding by 28K square feet and adding new machines. Shifts are available on 2nd and 3rd, with a rotating weekend schedule. Opportunities for overtime are available, with time and a half paid after 40 hours and double time on Sundays

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $45760.00/yr.
