Description

We are looking for a hands-on Controller to manage and lead the company’s accounting and financial operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, overseeing compliance, and supporting strategic initiatives to drive business success. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to improving processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements while maintaining the general ledger.

• Supervise accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure efficiency and compliance with policies.

• Manage cash flow operations, including vendor payments and customer collections, while implementing best practices to optimize working capital.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets.

• Coordinate annual audits, providing necessary documentation and collaborating with external auditors.

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and work with IT teams to optimize financial systems.

• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, support budgeting, and inform strategic decision-making.

• Develop team capabilities through training programs, process standardization, and succession planning.

• Document procedures and cross-train staff to ensure continuity and readiness for increased responsibilities

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or financial leadership experience.

• Proven expertise in financial reporting and month-end close processes.

• Strong knowledge of compliance regulations and internal control practices.

• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management.

• Proficiency in optimizing accounting systems and workflows.

• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to perform variance analysis and financial forecasting.

• Effective team leadership and development capabilities.
