    What You'll Do

    + Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols.

    + Apply critical thinking and judgment to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety.

    + Interact with patients and team members with compassion, dignity, and respect.

    + Administer oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and departmental policy.

    + Ensure proper coding, documentation, and image archiving for all exams.

    + Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns.

    Qualifications

    + Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification of program completion and scheduled graduation date.

    + Technologists hired prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until degree verification is complete.

    + Cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

    + ARRT Registry Eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.

    + Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire (effective January 1, 2025).

    + Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, must obtain registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required within 30 days of hire, based on AHA standards (includes didactic and skills demonstration).

    + If working in a New York facility, must hold certification from ARRT or NMTCB and be licensed through the New York State Department of Health.

    + Required Clearances:

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal)

    + Act 33 (with renewal)

    + Act 34 (with renewal)

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)
