Duties Description The intern will learn basic investigatory tactics and follow Worker Protection cases through from initial interview with a claimant to data entry, investigation, and resolution. The intern will assist in identifying issues revolving around underpayments of prevailing wage rates. The intern will utilize the certified payroll system to identify potential underpayments. The intern will be trained in confidentiality requirements. The intern will learn basic safety protocols and will accompany members of Strike Force and the Albany District Office on routine visits to construction sites in the Capitol region. He/she will assist investigators in contacting workers to gather follow up information and in determining the location of active construction projects. The intern will assist in routine tasks such as scanning documents and organizing files.

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Be 18 years of age or older• Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate • program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State*• Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program• Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalentPreferred Skill sets: Competency and proficiency at utilizing various technological data systems is preferred.A willingness to meet with construction workers in the field and the ability to connect with them is a must.Degree Concentrations Requested:Business AdministrationCommunication StudiesConstruction Technology CounselingCriminal Justice/Homeland SecurityInformation TechnologyLegal StudiesPublic Administration
