Job Description:

Job Title: Sign Fabricator

Department: Graphics Production

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function:

Weeds and applies vinyl onto signs. Monitors inventory and maintains equipment. Fabricates plexiglass holders.

Accountable and Reports to: Director, Graphics Production; Graphics Assistant Manager

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Performs sign set up and follow-through of materials and finished products for the interior sign program. 55%

+ Monitors material inventory and order items as needed.

+ Maintains equipment, supplies and work area. 25%

+ Ships and mails signs to store and offices 20%

+ Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: (These are considered occasional in nature)

Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

+ Must have the ability to follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions; several concrete variables.

+ Must have the ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.

+ Must have the ability to mail materials; copy data from one record to another; interpret written work instructions; guide people and provide basic direction.

Education and Experience:

High school or equivalent experience. Specialized design and sign shop training preferred.

One to Three years of similar or related experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the ability to perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Visual requirements include clarity of vision at distance of less than 20 inches and up to 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, and color vision.

• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a shop setting. There is exposure to dirt, noise, and dangerous chemicals/solvents. There is significant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day. Must be available to work weekends as assigned.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

Sanders, drill saws, silk screen press, air compressor, tape measure and small hand tools.

Confidentiality:

Has access to time sensitive, semi-confidential information including pricing and ad information.

Has frequent contact with customers, store personnel, vendors and staff from other departments.
