    Job Title: Quality Technician

    Job Description

    As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to measure product dimensions and tolerances accurately. You will conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections of machined or manufactured parts, utilizing tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to detect defects and imperfections. Ensuring machines and tools are properly calibrated and maintained for accuracy is essential, along with performing functional and cosmetic inspections on assemblies and finished products.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up, run, and monitor CMMs to ensure accurate measurements of product dimensions and tolerances.

    + Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections of machined or manufactured parts.

    + Utilize micrometers, calipers, gauges, and visual inspections to detect defects and imperfections.

    + Ensure machines and tools are calibrated and maintained for accuracy.

    + Perform functional and cosmetic inspections on assemblies and finished products.

    + Work within production lines and inspection stations, using gloves to identify burrs.

    + Utilize cranes to move products to and from inspection stations and lift smaller products by hand (up to 50 lbs).

    + Record inspection results, maintain records, and report non-conformance using computer systems.

    + Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and suppliers to resolve issues.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality inspection.

    + Experience with CMM operation and inspection.

    + Ability to read and understand blueprints.

    + Strong quality control and assurance skills.

    + 3+ years of experience in manufacturing quality or operations inspections.

    + Experience with handheld measurement instruments.

    + Strong communication skills for reporting and documentation.

    + Attention to detail for spotting inconsistencies.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + CMM operation experience preferred.

    + Strong communication skills for reporting and documentation.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The position offers two shifts, Monday to Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with potential overtime.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Stanton, TN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
