    **D.R. Horton, Inc.**is currently looking for a*_Land Accountant_*. The right candidate will apply the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports; maintain budgets and projected costs regarding land/lot acquisitions.

    *Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    * Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, dollar amount errors on invoices, etc., for land/lot acquisitions

    * Review Gross Profit Margins of subdivisions

    * Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure that deadlines are met

    * Oversee Due Diligence Reconciliation and review

    * Create land spreadsheet for payments

    * Run various reports and perform budget tracking

    * Prepare/update land acquisition proformas (LAPs), Forestar proformas, and the Financial Project System (FPS)

    * Run a weekly funding request

    * Assist vendors with any questions

    * Assist with reconciling transactions and budgets pertaining to homes sold for the end of month process

    * Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

    * Ability to travel overnight

    Education and/or Experience

    * Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related area of study) from a four-year college or university

    * Two to five years of related experience and/or training

    * Understanding and ability to adhere to General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    * Familiarity with land/lot contracts

    * Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

    * Provide attention to detail and manage multiple responsibilities

    * Ability to accurately and efficiently process and record large volumes of data

    * Proficiency with MS Office and email

    Preferred Qualifications

    * Advanced Excel Skills preferred
