    Enrollment Bursar Manager

    POSITION DETAILS

    Reporting to the Bursar Director, the Enrollment Bursar Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

    + Administer College and University policy regarding the collection of tuition and fees.

    + Develop and implement strategies to ensure the prompt billing and timely collection of payments due to the College for tuition and fees, financial aid, third party payments, tuition waivers, and miscellaneous business transactions.

    + Oversee outreach to students regarding tuition account billing, and collections. Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to students and all customers, particularly the timely and professional response to all inquiries. Ensures effective communication with students through the college website, e-mail and mail correspondence, campus-wide outreach, etc

    + Communicate and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls for the accounting of cash, checks and other payments, and for the deposit of such payments. Assists in monitoring receivables and improving collections.

    + Manage all the college refund area, including working with central office on weekly refund processing and reports and auditing and releasing refunds over $10K per CUNY guidelines. Also maintain effective communication and collaborate with other offices, such as Admissions and Financial Aid, to ensure the validity of refunds

    + Manage staff and daily operations within the Office of the Bursar.

    + Train and supervise staff in refund controls/releasing refund holds, etc.

    + Train and supervise staff on the CUNYFirst system with emphasis on how to read the system and explain students’ bills so clear explanations can be made to student inquiries as well as oversee the testing and troubleshooting of new systems (e.g., Apple Pay) to ensure the accuracy of details and reporting

    + Collaborate with appropriate college offices including, but not limited to, the Offices of Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Affairs, Controller’s Office and Information Technology Services to ensure efficient interdepartmental workflow and communication.

    + Attend University meetings and communicate relevant information to Bursar Staff members

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

    CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

    Manages a College student accounts function and related activities.

     

    - Participates in developing and implementing strategies, policies and procedures to ensure the prompt billing and timely collection of student receivables

     

    - Manages daily office operations; supervises the accuracy and security of student revenue transactions; enforces College and University policies regarding the collection of tuition and fees

     

    - Analyzes office performance against revenue targets and other relevant benchmarks; recommends and implements improvements

     

    - Assists management with developing strategic plans, evaluating outcomes and ensuring compliance with legal requirements

     

    - Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management

     

    - May serve as College's Return to Title IV Compliance Officer

     

    - May manage professional and/or clerical staff

     

    - Performs related duties as assigned.

    $94,909- $105,816; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
