Job Title: Converting Operator** **Job Description

As a Converting Operator, you will be responsible for operating machines used in flexible packaging, including labels and printing on boxes. Your role will involve using and maintaining mounting equipment, ensuring it remains clean throughout your shift. Additionally, you will handle plates used as molds, inspecting each one before use in a print run, and cleaning them before storage.

Responsibilities

+ Operate machinery for flexible packaging production.

+ Utilize and maintain mounting equipment, ensuring cleanliness.

+ Inspect and clean plates used as molds before and after use.

+ Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any issues.

Essential Skills

+ 6+ months of experience in machine operation.

+ 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing setting.

+ Mechanically inclined with production line and assembly experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience as a Press Operator is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a smaller, family-owned company with a strong team spirit and low turnover, where most staff have been with the company for over five years. The company provides all necessary personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. The dress code includes steel toe boots and work-appropriate jeans or pants. Available shifts are from 5 AM to 1 PM and 1 PM to 9 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
