    Summary This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will be responsible for perform executive-level services to directly support the Commander, U. S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM); provide demanding, high-visibility, and assistance to USTRANSCOM senior leadership in developing and communicating Command guidance for transportation and logistics issues; and ensure recurring Command-sponsored events are successfully executed . Responsibilities As a COMMAND STAFF SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a point of contact within and representative for the USTRANSCOM Commander's Action Group. Provides executive-level briefings to distinguished visitors and select military and civilian groups; performs duties and support requirements to create, coordinate, conduct command orientations; and develops, coordinates, and executes related itineraries for distinguished visitors. Performs communication and engagement functions for the organization by planning, organizing, directing, providing, and evaluating strategic engagements and communication guidance with command-wide applicability. Initiates, plans, conducts, schedules, and coordinates all activities related to recurring formal USTRANSCOM programs, conferences, and special visits sponsored by the Commander. Provides program management support for senior-level support contract. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-12 you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service: Serving within a Commander's Action Group or similar senior executive leader support organization that plans and executes Commander-sponsored initiatives, programs, conferences, distinguished visitor events, and senior leader engagements. Providing executive-level briefings to distinguished visitors and select military and civilian groups. Coordinating with relevant internal and external organizations on Command-specific tasks, timelines, travel and billeting requirements to ensure the professionalism of events. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
