For more information please see: AcqDemo This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command. Responsibilities As a ACQUISITION PROGRAM MANAGER at the NH-1101-3 some of your typical work assignments may include: Develops complete strategic and tactical resource plans to support acquisition programs and is responsible for planning, programming, budgeting, and execution of program-related activities across a variety of functional disciplines and organizational elements. Leads Integrated Product Teams and working groups composed of various functional disciplines engaged in developing and recommending acquisition streamlining proposals and implementation plans. Interprets Air Force acquisition, logistics, and program management directives. Stays abreast of regulations, policies, and procedures and provides guidance in interpretation and implementation. Implements mandated initiatives to streamline business operations; develops plans for implementing decisions and procedural changes; monitors and evaluates conformance with policies and procedural guidance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the NH 03 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Applying laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, and integrated life cycle management. Planning, organizing, and managing critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of subsystems or equipment. Integrating, analyzing, and managing a variety of acquisition functions and personnel in support of the process. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Additional Information Other Notes: ACQUISITION POSITION: This position is part of the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet the Back to Basics functional area certification requirements for career category A - Program Management, Level 2 - Practitioner within the timeframe range of 1 - 5 years from appointment date into the position. Per DoD 8140.03-M, the recipient of this additional duty assignment must achieve the appropriate Foundational Qualification within nine months of assignment, as well as the appropriate Residential Qualification within 12 months of assignment, unless a waiver is granted.
