    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Lead who will evaluate batches, finished goods, and raw materials to ensure they meet specifications. This role involves maintaining accurate records, generating certificates of analysis, and coordinating equipment sanitation and testing. The successful candidate will conduct both in-house and customer sanitation audits, initiate and update setup sheets, and serve as a backup to the Quality Control Supervisor. Additionally, responsibilities include calibrating laboratory equipment, arranging external sample testing, and participating in audits and special projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Evaluate batches, finished goods, and raw materials according to specifications.

    + Maintain accurate records and generate certificates of analysis.

    + Coordinate equipment sanitation and swab testing.

    + Conduct in-house and customer sanitation audits.

    + Initiate and update setup sheets.

    + Serve as a backup to the QC Supervisor.

    + Calibrate and verify laboratory equipment.

    + Arrange delivery of samples for external testing.

    + Participate in audits and special projects.

    + Perform daily scale and metal detector checks.

    + Assess production lines for quality procedures.

    + Investigate customer complaints.

    + Audit sanitation of blending and production equipment.

    + Assist in operations and administrative tasks.

    + Support Kosher and Halal certification maintenance.

    + Review ingredients and finished products for age.

    + Participate in recall and mock recall procedures.

    + Research and implement continuous improvement efforts.

    + Enter production data into the database system.

    Qualifications

    + 2+ years of experience in quality control in the food industry or related field.

    + Experience with training quality technicians.

    + Knowledge of GMP guidelines.

    + Proficient in computer skills.

    + Understanding of quality assurance and HACCP protocols.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bolingbrook, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
