Join our team as a Service Specialist and play a crucial role in starting up, commissioning, and re-commissioning customer systems that utilize DDC technology. Provide innovative solutions to mid-level systems problems by troubleshooting and collaborating with subcontractors and trades. Deliver turnkey projects on a small scale and ensure accurate documentation throughout the process.
Responsibilities
+ Start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems using DDC technology.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve mid-level systems problems, assisting others as needed.
+ Deliver turnkey project delivery on small projects with a budget of 80 hours or less.
+ Work with unitary systems such as VAV, FPB, FCU, small AHUs, basic CW/HW systems, and front-end systems.
+ Complete and maintain accurate commissioning documentation and As-Built drawing packages.
+ Complete paperwork on time, including time sheets, expense reports, work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports.
+ Ensure total system operation from controllers to sensors, including software loading, setting up trends, alarms, and reports.
+ Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment such as multi-meters and laptops.
+ Perform mid-level static commissioning of software programming.
+ Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on the total system.
+ Set up operator workstations with all associated software.
+ Perform job database backups daily or as advised.
+ Assist with project turnover to the Service Department.
+ Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
+ Track and record personal job progress and keep Project Manager informed.
+ Review customer systems, suggesting improvements and scope issues to the Project Manager.
+ Maintain a daily log of pertinent job-related activities.
+ Adhere to safety standards with a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
+ Maintain computer and networking skills for proper laptop and mobile device maintenance.
+ Understand the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in HVAC, computer, electrical, and technician skills.
+ Experience in installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of controls and building automation systems.
+ Knowledge of field controls, BMS, building automation, HVAC, and TCP/IP.
+ Familiarity with electronics and tools such as oscilloscopes.
+ Experience with Siemens, Trane, and Honeywell systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls.
+ Field experience in installing and operating Automated Logic Controls and third-party control systems.
+ Experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, and others.
+ Ability to handle multiple simultaneous challenges requiring interdisciplinary knowledge.
Work Environment
This position covers the NY and NJ territories. Candidates will drive their own vehicles and be reimbursed for daily expenses, including tolls and mileage, up to 56 miles per day. Reporting to Clifton daily is not required; candidates can travel directly to job sites from their homes. Contractors are eligible for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses such as parking and tolls. Upon becoming full-time employees, they will receive a company car, EZ Pass, and company credit card. Candidates must be able to climb ladders and lift items up to 50 lbs. Typical working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with no on-call shifts in the install group.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Queens, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.88/hr.
