Job Title: Mechanic** **Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Shop Mechanic responsible for the maintenance and servicing of engines and compression equipment in the oil and gas field. The role involves the inspection, repair, and replacement of equipment and components necessary to fulfill service contracts. Familiarity with micrometers and calipers is crucial as precise measurements are essential. The position requires work on engines, HRUs, heat exchangers, pumps, fan compressors, blowers, and both fuel oil and natural gas systems. Responsibilities also include rebuilding heads, testing injectors, and working with pump shafts, impellers, bushings, sleeves, wear rings, slats, discs, guides, valves, and pump bodies.
Responsibilities
+ Perform maintenance and servicing of engines and compression equipment.
+ Conduct inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment and components.
+ Utilize micrometers and calipers for precise measurements.
+ Work on engines, HRUs, heat exchangers, pumps, and compressors.
+ Rebuild heads, test injectors, and manage pump components.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues across multiple systems.
+ Perform maintenance repairs, including adjusting, aligning, balancing, and overhauling equipment.
+ Identify and diagnose maintenance problems and perform corrective actions.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with compressors and troubleshooting.
+ Strong mechanical knowledge and skills.
+ Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and precise measurement tools.
+ Experience in maintenance and service of engines and compression equipment.
+ Knowledge of generators, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
+ Manual machining skills.
+ Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
+ Blueprint reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience as a Shop Mechanic.
+ Experience in oil and gas field shop work is a huge plus.
+ Certifications from Ingersoll-Rand, Dresser-Rand, Cooper, Ajax, GE, Ariel, Cat, or Cummins are advantageous.
+ Experience in the petro-chemical industry.
+ Possession of a TWIC Card.

Work Environment
This position is based in a smaller manufacturing/shop environment, which is semi-dirty and equipped with older manual equipment. The work schedule is typically the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with some occasional Saturdays. Flexibility in hours may be required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisburg, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
