Job Title: Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing new parts and products, updating bills of materials, and managing engineering change orders. This role offers an opportunity to engage in custom, varied work, with continuous learning in a flexible and collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities
+ Design new parts and products using 3D modeling software.
+ Update bills of materials as required.
+ Manage and implement engineering change orders.
+ Focus on CAD modeling and creating detailed drawings.
+ Work with electrical and fluid/hose/cable reels.
+ Collaborate with teams to support new product design and print updates.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in 3D modeling and mechanical engineering.
+ Experience with bills of materials and engineering change orders.
+ Solid understanding of product design and ERP systems.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in new product design and print updates.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or an associate's degree with relevant experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with SolidWorks preferred, but other CAD modeling software will be considered.
Work Environment
The position involves primarily desk work (80-90%) with occasional travel (10%) to Ames for on-site work. The working hours are flexible, typically Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3 PM or 7:30 AM to 4 PM. The role is based in Waverly, with interaction with teams in Ames. The engineering design team consists of 10 members, and they are looking to expand with additional team members. This is a collaborative and supportive team environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Waverly, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $44.00/hr.
