Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company , supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures , including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades . Spirit Commercial ’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
+ Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs.
+ Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product and equipment reliability.
+ Completes risk analysis studies of new design and processes.
+ Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product, process and equipment.
+ Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
+ Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives.
+ May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks.
+ As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.
+ Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.
+ May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Requires educational credentials meeting the Spirit classification standards for engineers and typically 2 to 4 years of experience in an engineering classification / position or a Master's degree with 0 to 2 years' experience in an engineering classification / position
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related course of study from an ABET accredited University

Union:
This is a union-represented position.
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $72,050 - $110,450
