Job Description
Olsson offers its clients a full spectrum of water services, including a complete line of planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services. As a Project Engineer on our Water Resources team, you will apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and independently make decisions regarding engineering complexities.
This role generates ideas and creates designs that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Handle complex engineering tasks, including project design, cost estimation, and calculations using advanced expertise
+ Prepare project documents and ensure work aligns with scope, schedule, and budget
+ Independently develop new techniques, coordinate with Olsson teams, and guide others on design tasks
+ Collaborate with project managers to report progress and identify challenges
+ Assist with scopes and schedules as well as attend client meetings
+ May supervise and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff
+ Provide guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, and new concepts
+ Maintain project and client information in the firm’s project management system
+ May travel and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions at project sites in various stages of construction

You bring to the team:
+ Strong communication skills
+ Ability to contribute and work well with a team
+ Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
+ Professional engineering license (PE)
+ Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
+ 6 years or more of engineering experience
+ Experience in stormwater and water resources
+ Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, master planning, stream restoration, or stormwater design is a plus
+ Ability to represent Olsson in a professional manner at all times
