• Diesel Mechanic

    Waste Connections (St. Helena, CA)


    **Upper Valley Disposal** , a Waste Connections company, is now looking for a _safety conscience_ **Diesel Mechanic** to join the team at our location in **St. Helena, CA** !

     

    The schedule will be **Monday-Friday** **7am-3:30pm.** Schedule is subject to change seasonally as needed.

     

    **The pay range for this job category is $34-36 per hour, depending on experience.** We also offer great family benefits, a 401k, paid vacation, etc.

    Responsibilities Include:

    + Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines

    + Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from brakes, A/C, hydraulics, electrical, welding, engine replacement, transmissions, etc.

    + Interprets diagnostic test results accurately

    + Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system

    + Collaborates with other diesel mechanics

    + Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly

    + Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely

    + Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon

    + Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports

    + Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards

    + Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards

    Qualified candidate must have:

    + 5+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

    + Tool set, tool box and proper personal safety equipment required

    + Basic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and software

    + Class B CDL preferred, ability to obtain one is required

    + Clean driving record

    + Welding experience a plus

    + Minimum of a High School diploma or GED
