The Department of Corrections is hiring a Facility Education Director for the Oak Park Heights and Stillwater facilities. This position exists to provide effective leadership and supervision of education programs and resources at both Oak Park Heights and Stillwater, with the goals of establishing a campus-wide commitment to high standards and success for all students, while supporting a person-centered approach to correctional education service delivery.
This position has direct contact with individuals who are incarcerated.
Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
+ Possession of a valid Professional Minnesota teaching license.
+ Three years of teaching experience.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience. Leadership experience can include experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead, or completion of a State of Minnesota Leadership program (e.g. ELI or SLI), or comparable leadership program.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:
+ Bachelor or Master's degree in Education or related
+ Possession of a valid Minnesota Administrative license.
+ Experiencing designing and implementing successful programming and academic activity positively impacting student results and outcomes in urban or First Nation/Reservation, and/or Cultural Education settings
+ Administrative leadership experience in a higher education setting.
+ Experience guiding and counseling individuals and groups of students through the development of educational and career plans.
+ Experience supervising educational staff.
+ Experience coordinating data management activity and reporting for academic and operational outcomes reporting for various stakeholder groups.
+ Experience developing training curriculum for professional educators.
Physical Requirements

Additional Requirements
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
