    Join Our Diagnostics R&D Team: Summer Intern Opportunity in San Diego, CA

     

    Are you passionate about science and curious about how cutting-edge medical devices are created? Our Diagnostics R&D team is on a mission to improve women's health through early detection and innovative treatments. As a summer intern, you’ll dive into real-world projects that help shape the future of healthcare, working alongside experienced scientists who love sharing their knowledge (and maybe a few lab jokes).

    What you’ll be up to during your 10-12 week adventure:

    + Help optimize sample sufficiency controls to make our tests even more sensitive (yes, your ideas matter here!)

    + Assist with instrument harmonization and onboard assay integration—don’t worry, we’ll guide you through it

    + Document and improve Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows, plus get hands-on with data analysis

    + Support the development of new swab storage solutions, including testing for RNA/DNA stability and microbial prevention

    + Collaborate with a team that’s always eager to solve problems and try new things

    Who we’re hoping to meet:

    + You can work full-time during the summer (May/June - August/September)

    + You’re currently working on your Bachelor’s degree, with at least one semester left after the internship

    + Your major is in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Microbiology, or something similar

    + You’re heading into your junior or senior year

    + You know how to get your point across, whether you’re writing or speaking

    + You’re comfortable using MS Office applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

    + You’re naturally curious, love problem-solving, and want to make a real impact

    Location, pay & other important details:

    + You can work onsite at our San Diego, CA campus. Heads up: intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends aren’t provided, so you’ll need to have your living situation and transportation sorted out.

    + Pay range: $22 - $28 per hour, based on your class standing and operational function.
