Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a CARDIAC DEVICE CLINIC SPECIALIST to join our CARDIOPULMONARY LAB team!

The Cardiac Device Clinic Specialist provides quality cardiac rhythm device services to patients throughout the Aspirus Heart & Vascular Institute service area.

HOURS: .8 FTE/64 hours every two weeks working days, Monday-Friday

Educational Requirements

+ Associate Degree in cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, nursing or biomedical electronic sciences or a Bachelor’s Degree in cardiovascular/cardiopulmonary sciences beneficial.

+ Knowledge of ECG interpretive skills (identification and differentiation of arrhythmia), cardiac clinical assessment, and routine cardiovascular pharmacological agents (indications, use and effects).

Experience Requirements

+ Knowledge of the technological aspects of devices (pacemakers, ICDs) i.e., pulse generators, leads and electrodes, sensing, stimulation, timing cycles, algorithms and defibrillation concepts.

+ Completes Basic ECG class and passes with 85% or higher within one year of hire, or tests out of class.

+ Computer skills required.

+ Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.

Additional Desired Experience

+ Previous cardiac related experience

+ Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire

+ Successful completion of the IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) Certification Examination for Competency in Cardiac Rhythm Device Therapy desired within 3 years of hire.
