    ASPIRUS ST. LUKE'S in Duluth, MN is seeking a HOME HEALTH AIDE to join our HOSPICE ELECTION PROGRAM team!

     

    Salary Range: $17.80 - $24.63 Hourly

     

    Schedule/Hours: Primarily M- F, weekends as needed, DAY ONLY, 8 hours

    Weekend Requirement: Generally No Weekends

    FTE: FULL TIME, 1.000000 FTE

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Home Health Aide is responsible for providing personal care and routine exercise regimes to Home Care and Hospice patients. Responsible for providing homemaking services as assigned. Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of patient intervention on designated Home Health Aide documentation forms. Attends and actively participates in regularly scheduled meetings and in-services.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + Education: See Licensure/Certification Registration requirements.

    + Experience: N/A

    + Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered on the Minnesota registry upon hire into position. Registered on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry within 60 (sixty) days of hire into position. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Wisconsin Background Study upon hire and renewed per Wisconsin state law.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Knowledge of normal growth and development; basic nutrition; aging process; personal care services and proper body mechanics. Ability to give and receive written and verbal communications; work constructively with other people; follow through on directions; determine changes in physical status requiring notification of Case Manager; do sitting, work in close proximity to other staff members; tolerate extreme changes in weather and temperature. Ability to regularly travel to and from various duty locations in a safe and timely manner.

     

    + READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

    + WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.

    + SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    + MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    + REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    + AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.

    Sitting and driving (provide own transportation); tolerate extreme changes in weather and temperature. Lift, bend, stoop, walk, talk, able to communicate verbally with clients, and lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds, to perceive objects near and far.
