    Sidway Elementary, 8:35 AM to 3:35 PM

    Salary:

    Per diem $170 with increase/retroactive to collective

     

    bargaining agreement after 40 days.

    Duties:

    The elementary paraprofessional supports classroom teachers in providing instruction, supervision, and care for students, including those with special needs. Responsibilities include assisting with academic activities, reinforcing learning, implementing behavior support strategies, and helping maintain a safe, positive classroom environment. The paraprofessional works closely with teachers and staff to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. NYS certification Childhood Education 1-6 and/or B-2 or Pre K-6 required.

    2. Experience with using a reading program and assessment systems. Familiarity with iReady preferred.

    3. Possess deep understanding of instruction in Next Generation LS.

    4. Familiarity working with students with disabilities.

    5. Ability to use Data Driven Instruction to improve student achievement.

    6. Ability to cooperate and collaborate with grade level team, special area teachers.

    7. Strong use of technology to support professional responsibilities; ability to integrate technology into instruction. 8. Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate level.

    9. Strong written and oral communication skills.

    10. Strong work ethic; ability to collaborate with team/school.
