Office/Location: Various newsrooms in NYS
Job Summary (Function and Scope):
Work in local news as a reporter, photographer, videographer, social media or digital production staffer. This program offers qualified students a fully paid summer experience. Interns will also have option to pick desired newsroom or location.
Job Duties:
+ Write news stories
+ Work in a team atmosphere
+ Engage community leaders and individuals in news stories
+ Develop own assignments based on awareness of local events
+ Work fast and accurately on a deadline
Job Requirements:
Required Education/Qualifications:
+ Applying students must show previous experience in campus or local news to qualify.
+ Applying students must be from a SUNY school that was a member of SUNY Institute for Local News.
Pay Rate: $18.00 an hour
