Please note that applicants will be reviewed and will be filled on a continuing basis based on program needs.

Salary: $245.00 per student completion of a 20-to-24-week online course. If the student withdraws prior to completion, the teacher will be compensated at a daily rate of $1.45. Teachers will be compensated in the month following course completion or withdrawal.

Teachers are expected to:

•Ability to work with a diverse population of students. •Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning. •Provide resources to meet student learning needs. •Communicate regularly and effectively with all stakeholders. •Record and report student progress. •Provide a minimum of one (1) synchronous office hour per week, available to student(s) for calls, meetings (virtual) as provided in the AccelerateU handbook.

Job Qualifications

Candidate must have:

•current NYSED certification in content area •Documented five (5) years teaching experience •Evidence of proficiency with computer technology •Evidence of responsiveness to students and all other stakeholders

Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels, including but not limited to:

•Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments •Knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction •Excellent written and oral communication skills •Promoting equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments
