    Controls Engineer

     

    Schedule: Flexible shifts, including occasional weekends

    About the Role:

    Are you passionate about automation and advanced manufacturing? We’re looking for a Controls Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. In this role, you’ll design, program, and optimize control systems that keep high-volume production running smoothly. You’ll work on cutting-edge automation projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a real impact on operational efficiency.

    What You’ll Do:

    + Design & Develop: Create control system designs from written sequences of operation, including pneumatic, electrical wiring, and hydraulic diagrams.

    + Program & Configure: Develop PLC and HMI software for automated systems.

    + Test & Optimize: Perform tryouts, debugging, and provide start-up support for control systems.

    + Support & Train: Assist during equipment installation and train plant personnel on system operation.

    + Collaborate & Travel: Work closely with engineering teams and travel to plant sites as needed.

    What We’re Looking For:

    + Technical Expertise: Proficiency in PLC programming and machine controls hardware/software.

    + Experience with servo drive systems and AutoCAD.

    + Knowledge of electrical and safety standards.

    + Leadership Ability: Capable of supervising and guiding technical teams.

    Education & Experience Options:

    + High school diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience

    + Associate degree with 4+ years of experience

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering (internship experience preferred)

    + Entry-level candidates with a Master’s degree and technical coursework

    Work Environment:

    + Manufacturing Floor: 75% of time in production areas; 25% in engineering office

    + Safety First: PPE required (safety glasses, high-visibility vest, arm covers)

    + Flexible Schedule: 1st Shift, but must be open to all shifts and weekends as needed for projects

    + 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM

    + 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM

    + 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 6:30 AM

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, MO.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
