    + JOB REQUIREMENTS

    + Education

    + High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in nutrition, healthcare, or a related field preferred. An associates degree in an applied science or health care is desirable.

    + Experience

    + Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a NICU or pediatric unit, is highly desirable. Experience in pharmacy, lactation support, or lab work is a plus. Certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe is preferred.

    + The role is primarily based in the NICU milk lab or preparation area, with exposure to infectious agents and bodily fluids requiring strict adherence to safety protocols. The position involves constant standing, walking, and occasional lifting of supplies or equipment. Emotional resilience is essential due to the sensitive nature of working with critically ill infants and their families.

    + JOB SUMMARY

    + As a NICU Milk Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate preparation, handling, and delivery of human milk and infant formula for critically ill or premature newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position requires precision, adherence to strict protocols, and compassion to support the nutritional needs of fragile infants and their families. You will work collaboratively with the NICU healthcare team to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and hygiene standards. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals and interact with families. Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment while maintaining compassion and sensitivity. Physical stamina to stand, lift, and move equipment or supplies as needed. Basic knowledge of human milk handling, preparation, and storage guidelines.
