About The Role:
The CAT Oil & Gas and Marine Division has an exciting opportunity for an **Engineering/Technology Project Team Leader** located in Lafayette, Indiana. In this role as Project Team Leader, you will serve as an experienced, individual contributor on projects and be responsible for providing sound technical solutions to dealers and customers worldwide.

+ This position requires working onsite five days a week
What will you do:
+ Contribute to the identification, analysis, and resolution of needs and problems
+ Develop concept and design of complex components, subsystems, and/or processes for customized engine/mechanical and package/generator set solutions
+ Provide Project Specification review support for dealers and customer
+ Provide Design-To-Order (DTO) quotes to dealers and internal customer
+ Communicate technical information to dealers, customers, team members, suppliers, and other units
+ Support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing support personnel, dealers, customers, and suppliers on projects and opportunities
+ Develop and maintain keen understanding of internal and external customer needs Support definition and value placed on new product features, functional and technical specifications and general product requirements.
+ Understand and keep current on customer/dealer market and needs and understand how and why decisions are made within their work group and organization
+ Apply knowledge of products, technology, industry, etc., in support of Caterpillar, dealer and customer expectations and needs.
+ Stay abreast of industry and technology changes and relate those changes to Caterpillar, dealer and customer needs.
+ Work with internal Caterpillar departments to successfully execute order delivery to the dealer and customer.
What You Have – Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences:
+ **Products and Services:** Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
+ **Technical Excellence:** Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
+ **Influencing Through Expertise:** Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
+ **Product Design and Development:** Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Top Candidates Will Have:
+ College or university degree in Engineering or Technology field with 6-8 plus years of experience, or equivalent experience of 10 plus years of progressively responsible job-related experience.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate effectively and to influence others in the work group, dealer personnel and customers.
+ Demonstrated ability to work on larger scale, more complex assignments and provide direction to lower-level reps on project assignments.
Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
