We’re seeking a hands-on Software Engineer with deep experience in the Modeling, Simulation, and Training (MS&T) industry to build and integrate high-fidelity training solutions for Defense customers—especially Army and Navy programs. You’ll develop C++ software that interoperates across distributed simulation environments and connects to simulators used for operator training, mission rehearsal, and systems test.

    Impact

    • Deliver dependable, high-fidelity training capabilities that improve warfighter readiness

    • Advance interoperability across Live/Virtual/Constructive (LVC) training systems

    • Reduce integration risk by adhering to standards (HLA/DIS) and VV\&A practices

    What You’ll Do

    • Design & implement production-grade C++ subsystems for real time simulation, training devices, and constructive forces.

    • Integrate distributed simulations using HLA (High Level Architecture) and DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation), including federation object model (FOM) work, RTI integration, and entity/state synchronization.

    • Develop and maintain simulators (desktop and full mission) for Defense programs; collaborate with Army/Navy stakeholders, integrators, and test teams.

    • Model behaviors and systems (platforms, sensors, weapons, comms) and validate against authoritative data and requirements.

    • Profile & optimize for determinism and low-latency networking; troubleshoot timing/jitter and packet-level issues.

    • Automate build/test (CI/CD) and contribute to configuration management, requirements traceability, and accreditation artifacts.

    • Author engineering documentation (designs, ICDs, test plans, user guides) aligned to defense program standards.
