    We are seeking dedicated Safety Specialists for our Phoenix branch to ensure the highest standards of workplace safety and OSHA compliance. This role involves a hands-on approach, working with operations personnel to implement a proactive, behavior-based health and safety strategy. The focus is on personal responsibility, incident prevention, and compliance management systems.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct audits and hazard analysis of project operations and assist in updating and maintaining the company safety manual.

    + Provide training for New Hire Orientation, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10, Competent Person, and Asbestos.

    + Engage daily with field personnel and management teams to maintain OSHA compliance and workplace safety.

    + Collaborate with teams to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, laws, standards, and policies.

    + Track employee development and On The Job Training (OJT) to ensure safe and effective job performance.

    + Work with personnel to ensure safe job placement and assignment.

    + Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections.

    + Cultivate positive and productive relationships with customer representatives and address any safety issues.

    + Develop and deliver training programs, maintaining all associated documentation.

    + Promote corporate training systems with a commitment to safety and quality.

    + Evaluate and maintain inspection and testing reports.

    + Assist in incident process, maintenance, and recordkeeping.

    + Prepare, schedule, and conduct regular QA/QC crew audits.

    + Assist with OQ Training/Evaluating as needed.

    + Maintain and develop expertise in gas distribution, pipeline, and underground safety knowledge.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of construction safety experience.

    + OSHA 10, 30, 40, 500/510 certifications.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Strong presentation skills for leading Safety Meetings and trainings.

    + Familiarity with quality assurance audits in the natural gas and public utility industry.

    + Ability to identify and record proper and improper practices on a natural gas job site.

    + Experience in coordinating and communicating across company and department lines.

    + Strong communication and writing skills.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + CSP, ASP, OHS, CHST, CSST, CSHO certifications preferred.

    + Bachelor’s degree in a Safety or construction-related field is preferred.

    + Experience in transmission, distribution, and power, including substation experience (training available if necessary).

    + Experience in heavy civil projects.

    + Knowledge of NFPA70.

    Work Environment

    This role is primarily field-based, with approximately 75% of the time spent in the field and 25% in the office. The first six months will involve working out of the Phoenix office for onboarding and training, with potential travel depending on workload. A company vehicle will be provided. There are no immediate travel requirements outside of Phoenix, but future opportunities may arise.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
