About the Role
Callen-Lorde is seeking a compassionate and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our integrated healthcare team. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in supporting physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in providing high-quality, affirming patient care. Key Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care & Clinical Support
+ Provide general nursing care under the supervision of healthcare providers.
+ Assist with triage, intake, and patient assessments to ensure timely and safe care.
+ Administer injections, immunizations, and other clinical procedures.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Collaboration & Care Coordination
+ Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other members of the Nursing team to support seamless patient care.
+ Support patients with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the clinic.
Growth & Leadership Opportunities
+ Serve as a resource for new staff, students, and volunteers, with opportunities to participate in preceptorship programs.
+ Pursue advancement into supervisory roles, quality improvement positions, or specialty service areas.
+ Access union-supported tuition reimbursement to pursue RN or advanced nursing education, with potential career growth into RN or management roles.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling options.
+ Day, evening, and rotating Saturday shifts are required, though we’re open to scheduling tailored to balance clinic needs and candidate availability.
+ Flexibility is emphasized to support work-life balance while maintaining patient coverage.

Qualifications
Education & Licensure
+ Current New York State LPN License.
+ Current CPR certification.
Experience
+ Open to applicants with varied backgrounds and levels of experience. Structured training and preceptorship are provided for all newly hired nurses.
+ Experience in outpatient or community health settings is beneficial but not required.
+ Comfort using computers and electronic health records, including EPIC, is ideal. Training is available.
